A warehouse was seized, visiting the country of origin of the blankets… and 33,000 counterfeit pieces were seized

The Ministry of Commerce’s supervisory teams seized a warehouse run by a resident of Asian nationality who exploited it to falsify the country of origin of blankets and bedding and their packaging and replacement of the country of origin from “China” to “Spain” and “South Korea” in order to mislead the consumer about the quality of the goods.
The Ministry closed the headquarters located in the Al-Faisaliah district, south of Riyadh, and referred the violators to complete implementation of the regulatory procedures against them, in accordance with the regulations, in cooperation and coordination with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, and the security authorities.

Commercial cover-up

Suspicions of an irregular partnership were seized, and an agreement to share profits at a rate of 40% for the citizen and 60% for the resident, in addition to tax evasion violations for not issuing invoices and using trademarks owned by others.
The seizures included 33,459 counterfeit blankets and about 28,000 pieces of bags and literature used in fraud and counterfeiting, which were seized in preparation for their confiscation.
It is noteworthy that the provisions of the Anti-Concealment and Anti-Commercial Fraud regulations stipulate the imposition of prison sentences of up to five years, a fine of up to five million riyals, the seizure and confiscation of illicit funds after the issuance of final judicial rulings against those involved, the deportation of violating workers, and the defamation of violators.
