North Korean forces suffer heavy losses on the battlefield
The intelligence agency, known by the acronym “GUR”, explained that the Ukrainian attacks near Novoivanovka inflicted heavy losses on North Korean units.
Ukrainian attacks
The agency added that the Ukrainian attacks along the front line also made North Korean forces face supply problems and even a shortage of drinking water.
Earlier this week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that 3,000 North Korean soldiers were killed or wounded in fighting in the Kursk region.

This was the first significant estimate by Ukraine of the North Korean casualty toll, several weeks after Kiev announced that North Korea had sent between 10,000 and 12,000 soldiers to Russia to help it in the war that has been going on for nearly three years.
The revelation of the North Korean casualty toll came at a time when the administration of US President Joe Biden is pressing to send as much military aid as possible to Ukraine before President-elect Donald Trump takes office.
