Russian missile by mistake. Putin apologizes to the President of Azerbaijan for the plane crash

Russian President Vladimir Putin apologized to the Azerbaijani President for the “tragic incident” regarding the Azerbaijani plane crash in Kazakhstan, which killed 38 people.
On Wednesday, the plane was on its way from the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, to Grozny, the regional capital of the Russian Republic of Chechnya, when it headed to Kazakhstan and crashed during an attempt to make an emergency landing. 29 people survived the accident.
In an official statement on Saturday, the Kremlin said that air defense systems were firing near Grozny on Wednesday, as a result of a Ukrainian drone strike, but it did not indicate that one of the missiles hit the plane.
Yesterday, Friday, a US official and an Azerbaijani minister made separate statements blaming the crash on an external weapon.

Russian air defense systems

Friday’s assessments by Azerbaijan’s Transportation Minister Rashad Nabiyev and White House national security spokesman John Kirby echoed those made by outside aviation experts who blamed the incident on Russian air defense systems that responded to a Ukrainian attack.
Neither Kirby nor the Azerbaijani minister directly addressed the statements blaming air defenses.
Passengers and crew who survived the accident told Azerbaijani media that they heard loud noises on the plane as it was flying over Grozny.
