The forum brings together more than 50 high-level speakers from around the world, and attracts a group of global experts, decision-makers and researchers to enhance discussions on water security and weather modification.

It aims to provide a scientific and global discussion platform aimed at enhancing cooperation and innovation in the field of rain enhancement science, as artificial intelligence solutions in the field of weather improvement will be of utmost importance on the forum’s agenda.

The seventh edition of the forum coincides with the tenth anniversary of the founding of the Emirates Rain Enhancement Research Programme, which is an important milestone in its journey that confirms its decade-long commitment to developing rain enhancement science and technology as one of the sustainable solutions to the challenges of water scarcity and enriching water and food security locally and globally, as the program’s investments that amounted to 82.6 million dirhams so far for the completion of the development of 11 research projects, which resulted in 8 patents, of which 3 are under registration, while 3 other research projects are currently being completed.

The forum will begin with a special ceremony to honor local and international figures and institutions that have contributed to the success and support of the program over the past decade.

His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al Mandoos, Director General of the National Center of Meteorology and President of the World Meteorological Organization, said that the support of the wise leadership of the National Center of Meteorology has contributed to enriching the outputs of the Emirates Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science and consolidating its position as a global platform that brings together the largest number of researchers and specialists in weather improvement and sustainability sciences. Water from around the world.

He expressed his pride in the progress of the program over the past ten years, and work is being done to continue improving its research outputs in support of global efforts to achieve water security.

His Excellency said that over the past years, the International Rain Enhancement Forum has formed a leading global communication point for all specialists in addressing water scarcity and supporting the UAE’s ongoing efforts to address global water security challenges through scientific innovation and international cooperation, pointing out that with the worsening climate crisis, Platforms like the International Forum on Rain Enhancement play an essential role in bringing together diverse expertise to find transformative solutions that benefit communities around the world.

As part of the UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science’s leadership in improving rainfall and advancing innovative solutions to enhance global water security, the program will officially launch its sixth grant cycle, which will focus on 5 research areas: improved pollination materials, cloud formation systems and/or new rain enhancement systems. , autonomous drones, climate interventions in limited areas, advanced models, software and data.

Researchers from all over the world – in academic and research circles within the government and private sectors around the world – will be invited to submit their initial research proposals, starting from the first day of the forum on January 28 until March 20, 2025.

Alya Al Mazrouei, Director of the Emirates Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science, said that the seventh edition of the International Rain Enhancement Forum represents a prominent event within the annual agenda of discussions on water sustainability and improving weather globally, as it focuses on the main topics that will shape the future of rain enhancement applications, especially the transformative potential of artificial intelligence and other technological discoveries. .

She pointed out that through capacity building, knowledge transfer and cooperation between various sectors, the forum will continue its important role in improving scientific understanding and technological innovations, and ensuring a sustainable water future for all.

Additional sessions will address key topics such as regional and global perspectives on water security, advances in hybrid AI-physics models for climate research, and innovations in autonomous drone systems for weather modification.

Discussions will cover the development of new cloud seeding materials, climate interventions in limited areas, and new approaches to cloud seeding.

Students and young researchers will have the opportunity to present their research projects through a session dedicated to presenting research, and forming the next generation of experts in this important field.
