Abu Dhabi, December 30 / WAM / ADNOC aims to redirect 200 billion dirhams to the local economy over the next five years through its program to enhance national content.
This strategic initiative will contribute to driving growth and economic diversification, strengthening ADNOC’s commitment to supporting the country’s long-term prosperity.
This new goal provides greater opportunities for local and international companies to benefit from ADNOC’s plans to purchase products that can be manufactured locally. It also contributes to encouraging investment in the manufacturing and industrial sector in the UAE, and providing more job opportunities for Emirati citizens.
The “ADNOC Program to Enhance National Content” during the year 2024 contributed to redirecting 55 billion dirhams to the local economy, and providing 5,500 job opportunities for Emirati citizens in the private sector, through cooperation with the Emirati Competitiveness Council “NAFES”.
Since the launch of the program in 2018, the program has achieved an economic value of 242 billion dirhams, and the number of Emirati cadres employed in the private sector has reached 17,000 citizens, which confirms ADNOC’s commitment to contributing to achieving sustainable economic growth and developing national talent.
Yasser Al Mazrouei, CEO of the Human Resources, Institutional and Commercial Support Department at ADNOC, said that in line with the directives of the wise leadership, ADNOC continues to play its pivotal role as a major catalyst for diversification and economic growth in the country, through its program to enhance national content, which is achieving great successes.
Based on these successes, ADNOC continues to provide more growth and development opportunities for the private sector to enhance its contribution to expanding the industrial sector, provide additional job opportunities for citizens, and encourages local and international companies to benefit from the company’s program to enhance national content to achieve sustainable value for all and enhance success.
ADNOC, through its program to enhance national content, continues to support the industrial sector in the country and advance the local manufacturing sector and economic diversification.
Since 2022, ADNOC has signed agreements with Emirati and international companies worth 72 billion dirhams to manufacture key products locally, which will enable it to accelerate the achievement of its goal of purchasing products that can be manufactured locally worth 90 billion dirhams within its procurement plans by 2030.
These efforts support the “Make in the Emirates” initiative launched by the country to support industrial growth and encourage innovation. In addition to its efforts aimed at supporting the development of the industrial sector, ADNOC is working to support the growth and diversification of the local food industry sector through its program to enhance national content by giving priority to providing More of its purchases are of high-quality local food products.
Recently, a number of suppliers working with ADNOC, including Apex, Kelvin, Royal, NCTH, NCS and ADNH, signed Agreements worth more than 540 million dirhams with 55 sub-suppliers in the UAE, during Abu Dhabi International Food Week.
These agreements are based on contracts that ADNOC had previously signed, worth more than one billion dirhams, with four companies to provide food catering and hospitality services to ADNOC group companies during the years from 2022 to 2027.
The agreements signed by ADNOC to provide food catering and hospitality services reinforce its commitment to supporting the UAE’s national strategy for food security, and enhancing its efforts to increase the share of local agricultural products in the supply chain from 25% to 60% across 11 major food products by the end of 2024.
ADNOC also recently awarded contracts worth 720 million dirhams to 11 companies, to purchase a variety of locally manufactured products for use in various aspects of the value chain of the company’s business.
The activities of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC 2024) witnessed the opening of eight of ADNOC’s partners, manufacturing facilities in the UAE, bringing the number of facilities that were enabled to be launched this year through the company’s program to enhance national content to 16 facilities, and bringing the total number of facilities that were opened. Since the start of the “Make in the Emirates” initiative, it has been launched to 33 establishments.
