Ras Al Khaimah sets two records with fireworks displays on the occasion of the New Year

Ras Al Khaimah, 1st January / WAM / The Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah welcomed the year 2025 with a stunning display of fireworks and drones, setting two records in the Guinness Book of World Records, in the categories of “Largest aerial display of a tree formed with multi-rotor drones,” and “Largest aerial photograph.” “For a sea shell formed with multi-copter drones,” this achievement is added to its record. The event was filled with exceptional New Year celebrations for the sixth time in a row.

The show, which was titled “Our Story in the Sky,” was a wonderful celebration of the natural beauty of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and its rich cultural heritage, and set new standards for the world’s New Year’s celebrations, as modern fireworks techniques were mixed with artistic images created by drones using laser technology, transforming the sky of Ras Al Khaimah. To an unforgettable scene through visual displays that embodied the most prominent symbols of the picturesque nature and authentic culture that characterize the emirate.

Raki Phillips, CEO of the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, said that this year’s New Year’s Eve celebrations represent a worthy celebration of the achievements achieved by the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah in the tourism sector during the year 2024.

He added that the new records achieved by the emirate in the Guinness Book of Records through this exceptional display reflect the standards of innovation and feelings of pride in culture that characterize Ras Al Khaimah, indicating that we will continue to provide more unique experiences to the residents and visitors of Ras Al Khaimah as we welcome the year 2025.

Phillips explained that the show extended along five kilometers of Ras Al Khaimah’s waterfront, and included three parts: the “Shifting Sands” show, inspired by the emirate’s deserts, which depicted the relationship between life and the natural environment, and the “Secrets of the Sea” show, which showcased the heritage of pearl diving in Ras Al Khaimah, while the final part of the show, entitled “The Light of the Guiding Stars,” celebrated the history of maritime exploration, as it included celestial images and meteors symbolizing the importance of navigation, to culminate in the show. Then, fireworks using advanced technologies were launched to light up the emirate’s sky.

The New Year’s Eve celebrations were attended by more than 100,000 residents and visitors of Ras Al Khaimah.

The event, which provided free entry to the New Year’s Eve festival sites designated for families and individuals, included various entertainment activities such as live music performances, children’s activities, and food trucks, in addition to providing designated areas for touring vehicles and camping places, which consolidates the position of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah as a distinctive destination for lovers of nature and the outdoors.
