Two people were killed and 20 injured when fireworks exploded in Honolulu

Authorities reported that a fireworks explosion on New Year’s Eve in a neighborhood on the island of Honolulu in the US state of Hawaii killed two people and injured 20 others.

The Honolulu Fire Department said in a statement that the accident occurred just before midnight outside a home, as the neighborhood is located near Honolulu International Airport.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said that two people were declared dead at the scene, and the other 20 injured were taken to hospitals.
