Ukraine reveals new statistics for the deaths and injuries of the Russian army

The Ukrainian army announced today, Thursday, that the number of Russian soldiers killed and wounded had risen to about 792,170 soldiers, including 1,370 who died or were injured during the past 24 hours.
This statistic comes since the beginning of the Russian war on Ukrainian territory in February 2022, according to a statement published by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to the statement, Ukrainian forces have destroyed 9,676 tanks since the beginning of the war, including four tanks yesterday, Wednesday, 20,056 armored combat vehicles, 21,552 artillery systems, 1,256 multiple-launch rocket launcher systems, and 1,032 air defense systems.
It also destroyed 369 warplanes, 330 helicopters, 21,200 drones, 3,003 cruise missiles, 28 warships, and one submarine.
Ukraine also reported the destruction of 32,729 vehicles and fuel tanks, and 3,675 units of special equipment.

Russia-Ukraine war

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Russian army units in the Russian border province of Kursk inflicted human losses on the Ukrainian armed forces amounting to more than 480 soldiers during the past 24 hours.
Units of the Russian “North” group forces continued their offensive operations, targeting formations of Ukrainian offensive brigades in several regions.
It also monitored 6 counterattacks by hostile attack groups, according to what the Russian Sputnik news agency reported.

Military battles on Kursk

Yesterday, Wednesday, the Chief of the Military Staff of Ukraine, Oleksandr Sirsky, provided new details about the military battles in Kursk after an inspection visit to Ukrainian forces in the Russian border region.
He stated that the Russian army lost more than 34,000 soldiers killed or wounded during their attempts to expel the Ukrainians from the region.
Ukraine and Russia launched strikes on Tuesday night, the eve of the New Year, and Kiev announced that it was targeted by 61 Russian missiles and drones, while Moscow said that it shot down 68 Ukrainian drones.

The Ukrainian Air Force also announced that the Russian strikes particularly targeted the Sumy region (north), bordering Russia, in addition to the capital, Kiev.
It used six Iskander ballistic missiles, six guided missiles, eight cruise missiles, and a Kinjal hypersonic missile.
