A 5.8 magnitude earthquake shakes Ethiopia

The US Geological Survey and the German Center for Geoscience Research said that an earthquake measuring 5.8 struck Ethiopia today.

The authority stated that the earthquake occurred 142 kilometers east of the capital, Addis Ababa, at a shallow depth of ten kilometers.

The same area was hit by a 5.5-magnitude earthquake yesterday, and a series of less powerful earthquakes of more than 30 over the past week.
