The festival, which falls within the “Quality of Life in Dubai” strategy, will witness the screening of more than 80 feature films. During its period, the “Al Marmoom… Film in the Desert” festival displays a wide range of films selected from among 240 films, including distinguished works competing for the “Al Marmoom Short Film Competition” awards, which includes four main categories: Documentary films Animation films, live action films, and films made using artificial intelligence. Its program also includes more than 30 workshops presented by a group of creatives and cinema experts, the most prominent of which are 4 workshops. It will be organized by the College of Arts and Creative Industries at Zayed University, in addition to a variety of seminars, discussion and dialogue sessions, and workshops specifically designed to encourage young talents to start their careers in various fields of cinema and the arts.
The festival, whose design mimics the Ghaf tree, contributes through its various activities to supporting the strength of cultural tourism and raising the level of environmental awareness by motivating its visitors to explore the Marmoum Desert as a natural reserve and one of Dubai’s important cultural destinations.
