Jabbar, a former soldier in the US Army, carried out the attack at dawn on Wednesday. The police shot and killed him during an exchange of gunfire at the site of the fatal accident on the famous Bourbon Street.
There are 13 people in the hospital so far after the attack. The coroner’s office listed the cause of death for all 14 victims as “blunt force injuries.”

About 30 other people were injured, including eight people in intensive care, according to University of New Orleans Medical Center spokeswoman Carolina Gebert.
