Jordan respects the will of the Syrian people and stands by them in rebuilding their country

Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, stressed today, Tuesday, the importance of the “high-level” Syrian delegation’s visit to the capital, Amman, and the joint talks that were held.
The Jordanian “Al-Mamlaka” channel quoted Al-Safadi as saying in a press conference with his Syrian counterpart, Asaad Al-Shaibani, today on the sidelines of joint talks in the capital, Amman, that Jordan stands by the Syrian people, respects the will of the Syrian people, and stands by them in rebuilding their country.
He added, “Syrian stability means Jordan’s stability, and Syria’s security reflects positively on Jordan,” adding that the armed forces have confronted all smuggling attempts on the border over the past years.
He explained that “the Syrian people deserve a free homeland after years of suffering,” noting that “joint committees will be formed with the Syrian side concerned with security, energy, and other fields.”
Al-Safadi stated that the legacy carried by the new Syrian administration is not easy, adding that Jordan will remain a support to Syria and will provide all support.
He pointed out that the talks touched on security in southern Syria and combating drugs on the border.
In turn, Minister Al-Shaibani said that the new situation in Syria ended the threats that previously threatened Jordan’s security, with regard to Captagon and drugs.
During the press conference, Al-Shaibani thanked Jordan for its warm reception of refugees over the past 13 years, adding that “this visit will be the beginning of a new beginning in Jordanian-Syrian relations in order to achieve security and stability in the two countries.”
Al-Safadi, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Al-Hunaiti, the Director of General Intelligence, Major General Ahmed Hosni, and the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, held extensive discussions with the high-level Syrian delegation visiting Jordan, headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad Al-Shaibani, the Minister of Defense, Murhaf Abu Qasra, and the head of the General Intelligence Service. Anas Khattab, Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Ghiath Diab, and Minister of Electricity, Omar Shakrouk.
The discussions dealt with ways to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation mechanisms in many areas, including borders, security, energy, transportation, water, trade, and other vital sectors.
