The American University of Bahrain hosts two exclusive training workshops within the Institute’s “MISTI” program

The American University of Bahrain is hosting two exclusive training workshops targeting students from various universities in Bahrain, during the period from January 6 to 30, sponsored by the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait and in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), for the third time in a row and within the “MISTI” Science Initiatives program. “International Technology for the Arab World” of the Institute.
The Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait’s sponsorship of this program comes within the framework of its commitment to supporting the process of higher education and promoting the culture of innovation in the Kingdom, by supporting educational institutions in providing quality programs that contribute to developing Bahraini competencies. Through this initiative, the Bank aims to prepare a promising generation of young people with the necessary skills. To compete on the global stage, which consolidates the Kingdom’s position as a regional center for educational excellence and leadership in various fields.
The first workshop will be held on the university campus, and it will focus on “accelerating startup companies in order to empower entrepreneurs and build the future of innovation.” It is the first time that the university has hosted a specialized workshop in this field. The workshop represents an opportunity for students to delve into the details of establishing and managing startup companies, from From the idea stage to actual implementation, participants will work under the supervision of a group of international experts and trainers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to ensure that they have a practical and fruitful educational experience.
As for the second workshop; It is titled “Interactive Experiences in Design and Manufacturing – Driving Technical Innovation,” and it is scheduled to be held in the university’s “D-Lab” laboratory using the latest tools and creative workspaces, and managed by a team of MIT trainers. Participants will be divided into two groups and will have the opportunity To learn about 3D modeling techniques, rapid prototyping, and laser cutting, in addition to implementing practical projects aimed at enhancing their creative skills and innovation capabilities.
This workshop comes within the commitment of the American University of Bahrain to support innovation and creativity among students, in addition to providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary to keep pace with modern technical developments, and to develop their skills in the fields of design and manufacturing.
