A person close to Netanyahu calls for an end to the war…it has not achieved any gains

The former director of the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, Benjamin Netanyahu, and one of his close associates, Natan Eshel, called for an immediate halt to the war on the Gaza Strip, considering that it does not achieve any military or security gains for Israel. It continues to no avail. Eshel said in a message he sent to those close to him via the “WhatsApp” application, which was circulated by the Israeli media, today, Tuesday, that “there is no point in continuing the fighting in Gaza, and therefore it must be stopped immediately,” calling for the siege to be imposed on the Strip.

Eshel’s letter stated, “It is unfortunate that we lose more soldiers or that they suffer amputations or loss of eyes, in addition to Thousands who have already paid the price, and will pay an additional price as a result of the continued unnecessary fighting in Gaza.”

He stressed that “the war in Gaza currently does not return the hostages, and does not achieve gains.” Military or security. “In my opinion, it should be stopped immediately.” Eshel proposed a solution to end the war, saying: “Since the Gaza Strip is besieged, the only solution is to impose a comprehensive siege.”

The siege proposed by Eshel includes “not bringing in aid.” Or food to the Gaza Strip. At the same time, an orderly and controlled exit (for Gazans) to areas that Israel can verify is allowed for anyone who wants to live.”

< p>He continued, “As for those who do not want to live, and refuse to leave in an organized and controlled manner, they will either die by bullets from Israeli army soldiers, or from hunger.” He considered that this method “is the only one that brought down Jerusalem and Masada.” And all wars in history.”

Eschel also accused the administration of US President Joe Biden, which is approaching the end of its term in less than two weeks, of not wanting to resolve the war on Gaza. Finally, it sought to maintain its ability to "manoeuvre" Israel, as he put it. Eshel added, “We can prepare from now on and announce that this (siege) is what Israel will do in two weeks, when the Donald Trump administration enters the White House.” “This is good for Israel, and it is also good for the people of Gaza who are not involved and want to live.” It is noteworthy that Eshel is still unofficially involved in power issues in Israel, due to his closeness to the Prime Minister, Netanyahu, as a recent incident revealed his role in pressuring the Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, to apologize to Netanyahu. After Ben Gvir apologized last Saturday evening for forcing Netanyahu to leave the hospital to support a budget bill, Eshel sent a letter to Ben Gvir, in which he wrote: “I am glad that you finally listened to my advice and apologized. Happy week. But the message was apparently sent by “mistake” to Ynet correspondent Itamar Eichner, instead of being sent to Itamar Ben Gvir. What revealed Eshel’s role in pressuring Ben Gvir and his involvement in coalition issues.
