Cuba declares its readiness for dialogue with America… and reveals its only condition

Confirm Miguel Diaz-Canel on Friday prepared his country to enter into dialogue with , but without making any political concessions, in light of the escalation of made his threats against the communist island.
The Cuban president said in a speech in Havana in front of the American embassy "We will remain open to dialogue and improving relations between the two countries, but on an equal footing and based on mutual respect"
No concessions
He added: "Cuba has no political concessions to make. This will not be on the negotiating table for rapprochement between Cuba and the United States"
US President Donald Trump escalated his threats against Cuba following the attack launched by US forces in Caracas on January 3 and the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
During this operation, 32 Cuban soldiers were killed, some of whom were among Nicolas Maduro’s guards.
Donald Trump urged Havana to reach an agreement or face unspecified consequences, going so far as to suggest that the US Secretary of State take over Marco Rubio as President of Cuba.
US-Cuban Relations
Marco Rubio, the son of Cuban immigrants, has repeatedly spoken of the need for regime change on the island, which is ruled by the Communist Party.
The US President also recently announced the halt of oil and aid shipments to the island after he declared control over Venezuela’s oil.
In addition to being a strong ideological ally in the region, Venezuela has formed The main supplier of oil to Cuba since 2000.
On Monday, Miguel Diaz-Canel denied the existence of any ongoing talks with the United States, as reported by Donald Trump.
