US Secretary of State: We are very close to a ceasefire agreement

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said" We are very close to a ceasefire agreement and the release of detainees.”

He added: I hope we can complete it in the time frame we have left. , But if this is not the case, the plan presented by President Biden for a ceasefire agreement and the release of detainees will be transferred to the next administration.

He said Blinken in a press conference with his French counterpart in Paris: “I believe that when we reach this agreement – and we will achieve it – it will depend on the plan that President Biden presented to the world last May.” Blinken noted that the Biden administration spent a lot of time promoting an initiative to manage the Gaza Strip after the war, which includes arrangements for the security, management, and rehabilitation of the Strip. He added, “In this case as well, we are ready to hand it over to the Trump administration so that it can continue working on it and implementing it when the opportunity arises.” He added, “All of this is ready to be implemented if the opportunity arises, with a ceasefire in Gaza, as well as an agreement on the path to progress for the Palestinians.” There is a huge opportunity here.
