exhibition "Arab Plast" Examines the role of environmental policy and artificial intelligence in the future of the industry

Dubai, January 8, 2025 – The Arab Plast 2025 exhibition, held in Dubai, will shed light on the impact of environmental policies and artificial intelligence in directing the future of the plastic and petrochemical industries. Many companies from around the world will showcase their solutions that contribute to advancing sustainability and areas of technology adoption.
Speaking to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, during the exhibition, which continues until January 9, company officials confirmed that technology and environmental policies have become major factors in reshaping the sector, which promotes the adoption of more sustainable practices and stimulates innovation in all stages of production and recycling.

They pointed out that global environmental policies will contribute to setting unified standards for recycling, which enhances the sustainability of the industry. They stressed the importance of the exhibition, which concludes tomorrow, as a platform for discussing future opportunities between companies and concluding deals.
Engineer Khaled Al Kaabi, Executive Director of Eco Polymers and Eco Patch Plastics, stressed the impact of global environmental policies on the plastic sector, pointing out that this material has become an integral part of daily life, but it carries environmental challenges that require innovative solutions.
He pointed out that the ideal sustainable solution lies in promoting recycling and separating waste, explaining the importance of using recycled materials according to strict health standards to ensure safe use, especially when related to food products, stressing the importance of consumers’ growing awareness of the importance of purchasing environmentally friendly products in pushing companies to adopt technologies and procedures. More sustainable.
He stated that the UAE has been a pioneer in adopting advanced environmental laws for this industry for years, pointing to the possibility of improving industrial processes, especially since the current use of technology includes many fields, such as packaging and robotics technologies, which contributes to reducing costs and raising efficiency.
He stressed the importance of the “Arab Plast” exhibition in enhancing the position of Emirati companies in the local and international markets, and in achieving the country’s vision towards a more sustainable and developed economy, as a platform for displaying products and communicating with existing and new customers, and holding initial meetings that are later completed by the sales and marketing teams.
For his part, Basar Gadawala, Director General of FAM Recycling, stressed the importance of the role that technology and environmental policies play in advancing sustainability in the plastic recycling sector, explaining that technology based on artificial intelligence is absolutely necessary for the sector, because it provides the possibility of tracking the source of plastic waste, This helps reduce materials going to landfills.
He added that artificial intelligence contributes to reducing costs and reducing dependence on manual labor, which makes operations more efficient and sustainable, noting that there are global policies in preparation related to plastic recycling, with the aim of developing a unified recycling policy under the umbrella of the United Nations, which is expected to be implemented. Adopting it before the end of this year would push everyone to adopt recycling strategies and businesses, thus reducing costs and prices in the future.
In turn, Shano Ad, official of the Japanese international company “Shibura Machine”, touched on the impact of artificial intelligence and technology in general on the plastics manufacturing sector, explaining that it contributes to the development of automation systems that reduce the need for manual labor in the assembly, packaging, and separation processes.
He pointed out that artificial intelligence technologies allow remote control of turning on and off machines and monitoring their performance, which enhances the efficiency of operations and reduces operational costs, stressing that the exhibition represents an opportunity to hold initial discussions with new and existing customers, especially with regard to expansion projects, such as the production of lightweight components used in Food packaging.
