Global leaders gather at the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025 Summit

ABU DHABI, 9th January, 2020 (WAM) – Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025 will host the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit on the 14th and 15th of January, with the aim of formulating a global agenda to address sustainability challenges and enhance opportunities for economic transformation.
The summit represents the main event within Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, as it attracts the participation of 13 country leaders and more than 140 ministers and government officials, with the aim of advancing economic, social and technological progress and exploring opportunities related to economic transformation, whose value is estimated at more than 10 trillion dollars.
This year’s session is held under the title “Integration of Sectors for a Sustainable Future” and includes a diverse program of events that includes several keynote speeches and 34 discussion sessions in which more than 70 speakers participate, where the focus will be on enhancing constructive dialogue and cooperation and finding meaningful and tangible solutions.
The summit highlights the importance of achieving interconnection between advanced technology, especially artificial intelligence, and human expertise, to advance sustainable development and build a prosperous future that includes everyone.
The list of leaders of countries participating in the summit includes His Excellency Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan; His Excellency Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan; His Excellency William Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya; His Excellency Bola Tinubu, President of the Republic of Nigeria; His Excellency Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda; His Excellency Wavell Ramkalawan, President of the Republic of Seychelles; His Excellency Yoweri Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda; His Excellency Shavkat Mirzayev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan; His Excellency Edi Rama, Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania; His Excellency Peter Urbo, Prime Minister of Finland; Her Excellency Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of the Republic of Italy; His Excellency Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia.
His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Chairman of Masdar’s Board of Directors, said that in line with the vision and directives of leadership to enhance international cooperation and stimulate sustainable development, Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025 will be held under the title ‘Integrating sectors for a sustainable future’ to explore unique opportunities that allow enhancing… Interconnection between various sectors to support economic and social development.
He added that the role of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is not only limited to being a platform for dialogue and presenting new ideas, but it also focuses on stimulating hard and effective work and exploring the opportunities offered by enhancing integration between sectors and systems to launch a new phase full of great potential, supports the progress of humanity and contributes to building a better future for all.
For his part, Mohammed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar, said that holding the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit 2025 comes at a crucial stage during which efforts are being intensified to accelerate the pace of global sustainable development, as technological developments provide great opportunities to advance economic, social and environmental development.
He added that the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit constitutes a vital platform aimed at taking advantage of the available opportunities and enhancing dialogue between various parties to create a tangible positive impact and accelerate the pace of the transition towards a more sustainable future. As a prominent event to enhance cooperation and build partnerships, the practical agenda of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit provides a vital platform to intensify efforts to address a number of key topics, which include creating a qualitative shift in global energy systems, the impact of modern advanced technologies, in addition to enhancing water and food security.
The summit program includes various activities that include keynote speeches, discussion sessions and side dialogues, highlighting opportunities for achieving sustainable development and exploring opportunities for transition towards a sustainable economy.

As part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week’s commitment to advancing sustainability, Emirates Water and Electricity Company will grant “clean energy certificates” covering Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025’s energy consumption from January 14 to 16, which is held within the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), which is estimated at about 305 megawatts.
