ABU DHABI, 12 JANUARY / WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the “Youth for Sustainability” Center will be held during the period from 14 to 16 January, as part of the “Week of Sustainability” activities. The “Youth for Sustainability” platform is a global initiative launched by the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, “Masdar”, to empower the next generation of sustainability leaders, and during “Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025” it will provide a rich program focusing on youth innovations and employing science, technology, engineering and mathematics skills to enhance sustainability. , community participation, and concerted international efforts.

Through its various activities this year, the program will explore ways for young people to employ artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies to develop solutions in the climate field.
The centre, hosted by Masdar, will be held under the slogan “The present generation builds the future”, and will address the topics of technology, sustainability and entrepreneurship among young people by enabling them to communicate with representatives of governments, sector leaders, investors and experts.
The “Youth for Sustainability” Center offers a diverse program that focuses on five basic axes: taking advantage of capabilities and advancing the pace of progress; and innovation to achieve a qualitative shift in the energy sector; Empowering entrepreneurs to enhance resilience; developing STEM skills for a sustainable future; Promoting global cooperation and cultural exchange.
Mohammed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar, said that the “Youth for Sustainability Platform” has succeeded since its launch in 2016 in enabling thousands of young men and women to contribute an active role in building a sustainable future, in line with the endeavors of the UAE and its constant keenness to build and prepare… Youth leaders.
He added that the Youth for Sustainability Center will provide, during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025, a platform that allows communication between young people around the world, governments, sector leaders and society, with the aim of allowing them to play an important role in advancing economic, social and environmental progress and by providing the next generation with skills and knowledge. And networking opportunities, the “Youth for Sustainability Platform” contributes to preparing young leaders in the field of sustainability around the world.
The Youth for Sustainability Center will organize a wide range of interactive sessions, workshops and networking events that include the annual Youth for Sustainability Forum, which includes interactive sessions, important panel discussions and keynote speeches by experts, entrepreneurs and innovators; The “Out of the Lab” exhibition, which provides an innovative market experience showcasing the latest climate technologies and solutions to achieve climate neutrality developed by startups and student projects, including participants in the “Youth for Sustainability Platform”; “Youth Outreach” workshops, which address climate issues awareness and engage young people in simulated climate negotiation experiences; In addition to the “Climate Innovation Competition Pitch Day,” during which young innovators will present their innovative ideas centered around finding solutions to water scarcity challenges.
It is noteworthy that since 2018, the “Youth for Sustainability” platform has hosted four editions of the “Youth for Sustainability” Center during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, which attracted the participation of more than 3,000 young men and women from various parts of the world, and more than 200 speakers participated, including They included more than 40 heads of state and 65 sector partners. The platform also made contributions to many international events, including the participation of its members in the Conference of the Parties. COP28, which was held in the UAE and witnessed the official appointment of a “Youth Climate Pioneer” for the first time.
