A 4.2 magnitude earthquake hits western Russia

An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale struck near the coast of the Crimean Peninsula in the Black Sea, western Russia.
The European and Mediterranean Seismological Center reported, in a statement, that an earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale was detected at a depth of 45 kilometers and 75 kilometers to the southeast of the city of Kerch, indicating that no material or human damage was recorded.
The area surrounding the Russian city of Sochi on the Black Sea coast was previously exposed to a number of successive earthquakes, the magnitude of which reached 3.9 on the Richter scale.
