The 8th anniversary of the death of the woman with the warm voice "Mama Noona"

Today, January 13, marks the anniversary of the death of the artist Karima Mokhtar, who is considered one of the most prominent icons of art in Egypt, and who was distinguished by her beautiful features and warm voice, which made her widely popular with her fans.

 "Atiyat Muhammad al-Badri" was born On January 16, 1934, in Assiut Governorate, she joined the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts. In the fifties, she began the radio program “Baba Sharo.” She became famous for her voice through it.

And she met director Nour El-Demerdash while she was recording “One Hand Gang” She married him in 1958 and gave birth to four children: Moataz, Ahmed, Sharif, and Heba Al-Demerdash. She participated in the movie “The Price of Freedom.” As her first cinematic experience, then she played several roles that attracted the admiration of the audience, such as the movie “The Princess of My Love,” “The Grandson,” “Days Go by,” “A Man Who Has Lost His Mind,” “Oh Lord, boy, save this family, we do not plant thorns,” “The Orphan and the Wolf,” a difficult task.

One of the roles that met with great success and entered all Egyptian homes is the role of “Mama Nouna.” In the series “He is raised in pride” Starring Yahya Al-Fakharani, in which she presented the model of a caring, loving, and authentic mother, and among her most important television works are the series “The Miser and Me,” “The Promised Night,” “Saber, Uncle Saber,” “Adham and Zeinat and 3 Girls,” “Al-Hara,” “Al-Fursan,” “Zahra and Her Five Husbands,” “Al-Hawi,” “One Thousand and One Nights,” and “Dalaa Banat.”

 

 

 

Karima Mokhtar played the role of the mother in all its forms in all her works, and she was always keen to present meaningful works to the audience, and during her artistic journey she participated in one play, which is "The children have grown up" In 1979, written by Samir Khafaji and Bahjat Qamar, directed by Samir Al-Asfouri, and starring Saeed Saleh, Ahmed Zaki, Younis Shalaby, Nadia Shukri, Hassan Mukhtar.

 

And her latest artistic work is the series "The Pleading"  2014 starring Farouk El-Fishawy, Tamer Abdel Moneim, Samiha Ayoub, Sherine Reda, then she stopped acting for 3 years and died in 2017.
