Zayed National Museum celebrates Union Era Day with a cultural and community programme

ABU DHABI, 17 JULY / WAM / Zayed National Museum, the national museum of the state, celebrates “Union Era Day” through an integrated cultural and community program held on July 18 and 19, as part of a special edition of the “Weekends at Zayed National Museum” program, which recalls the founding stations in the journey of the Union, and translates the values it established into educational and interactive experiences that enhance national awareness, establish the spirit of belonging and shared responsibility, and celebrate the unifying Emirati identity.
The program embodies the museum’s mission to connect society with the history, heritage and values of the UAE, through a variety of community activities, storytelling sessions, creative workshops, and heritage and musical performances, allowing visitors of all ages to explore the principles upon which the Union State was founded, and to contemplate the meanings of unity, cooperation and solidarity that still form the foundation of its development process and future ambitions.
Traditional troupe performances present a group of authentic Emirati performing arts, including the art of spirituality, in a lively atmosphere that celebrates national identity and common cultural heritage, highlighting the legacies that united members of society across generations, and contributed to preserving national memory and enhancing community cohesion.
The Abu Dhabi Police Music Band performs a series of live musical performances that mix national, festive and contemporary works.
In the interactive activity “My Pledge to the Union,” the museum invites visitors to write their personal pledge to the nation and contribute to the completion of a collective artistic work that embodies the values on which the Union was founded, and expresses the shared responsibility in continuing the development process and preserving national achievements for future generations.
The program includes two creative workshops that allow visitors to express the values of Union Day through practical experiences that combine creativity and national identity, namely the embroidery workshop and the plant pot decorating workshop, in addition to the “Stories and Anecdotes Passed Through Generations” session, inspired by Emirati heritage.
