The Governor of Taif reviews the supervisory role of the Food and Drug Authority in the region

Today, His Royal Highness Prince Fawaz bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Taif, received the Executive Director of the Food and Drug Authority in the Western Region, Fahd Al-Nasseri, and a number of the branch’s leaders.

During the reception, His Highness was briefed on the supervisory role played by the Authority in following up on the safety of food, medicine and medical devices, and ensuring their availability, in addition to its efforts to enhance the preventive and awareness aspect, in cooperation with the relevant authorities in the governorate.

His Highness also reviewed the authority’s plans to carry out oversight tours of establishments and ensure their compliance with health requirements and regulatory licenses, which contributes to enhancing product safety and consumer protection.
The Governor of Taif discussed ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between the Authority and the relevant authorities, most notably the branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, and the Taif Municipality, in a way that supports the integration of oversight efforts and improves the quality of services, appreciating the efforts made by the Authority and its partners in maintaining the safety of food and medicine, and promoting public health.
