We invested $9 billion to raise the percentage of local content to 67%

The President and Chief Executive Officer of Aramco, Eng. Amin Nasser: Aramco has invested about $9 billion to provide its purchases of local products, through 350 local factories, of which 186 have already been established and 164 are under construction.

State support for Aramco

The Aramco Chairman reported that the state helped Aramco through infrastructure at the King Salman International Complex for Maritime Industries and Services at the King Salman Energy Park.
He explained that the state helped the company a lot, and this had a significant impact on the domestic product over the past 10 years, and on the spending of these companies to produce a local product used by Aramco, in addition to part of it for other companies, and another for export.

Local content

In response to a question from Al-Youm about the products that Aramco is targeting for localization, Al-Nasser said: The company seeks to localize all products from drilling, whether through the production of offshore or land-based drilling platforms, in addition to oil tankers, factories, turbines, and all of the company’s work, in addition to petrochemicals.
The president of Aramco added that the company is working to study what it imports and what it produces locally, and uses it to reach the target of local purchases.
Al-Nasser pointed out that Aramco does not seek to serve itself only, but is working to help other companies, especially since the company here cannot produce for just one customer, but must have other customers inside and outside the Kingdom, especially since export is important to Saudi Arabia. .

Target 70% of local content

Al-Nasser revealed that Aramco aims to reach 70% of government purchases by the end of this year, while that percentage will increase over the next 10 years.
