Reducing the speed limit on Sheikh Mohammed bin Salem Street in Ras Al Khaimah, effective January 17

The Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command decided to reduce the maximum speed on Sheikh Mohammed bin Salem Street from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed (Al Raffa) Roundabout to Al Marjan Island Roundabout from 100 to 80 km/h, so that the radar speed on the street became 101 km/h. , instead of 121 km/h, as of the seventeenth of this month.

Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Sam Al-Naqbi, Director General of Central Operations at the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command, explained that this decision comes within the framework of the Ministry of Interior’s strategy aimed at enabling safe road transportation through the use of modern traffic systems, and to make it safer and more secure.

Brigadier Al Naqbi added that the decision also aims to reduce the possibility of accidents occurring that may result from excessive speed on the aforementioned street, which is a vital street as it passes through residential, tourist and commercial areas, starting from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Roundabout, and passing through Al-Rifaa area, Al-Jazeera Al-Hamra area and Mina Al-Arab. And all the way to the Al-Murjan area, stressing that the decision to reduce speed on the street will play a major role in preserving the safety of its visitors and users.
