The UAE and Malaysia sign a cooperation agreement within the framework of the “Malaysia Madani Artificial Intelligence” initiative

The memorandum of understanding aims to employ artificial intelligence and advanced data analytics technologies to enhance community safety and operational efficiencies.
Under the memorandum of understanding, the two parties will work to enhance technical cooperation in many key areas, including developing protection systems supported by artificial intelligence, and establishing high-performance computing data centers, in a way that contributes to improving customs tax collection mechanisms and enhancing operational efficiency.

The memorandum also stipulates exploring other areas of cooperation between the two countries.

The investment memorandum of understanding was signed on the part of the UAE by His Excellency Muhammad Hassan Al Suwaidi, Minister of Investment, and on the part of Malaysia by His Excellency Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, the Malaysian Minister of Interior.

On the sidelines of the signing of the memorandum of understanding, ways of strengthening bilateral political and economic relations between the UAE and Malaysia were discussed, and the latest developments in the field of utilizing advanced technology and artificial intelligence techniques in various fields of work were discussed, especially those that reflect positively on improving the standard of living and quality of life.

On this occasion, His Excellency Muhammad Hassan Al Suwaidi said that our cooperation with Malaysia confirms the strength of our bilateral relations and our mutual commitment to promoting technological innovation in a way that contributes to supporting sustainable development, as this memorandum represents an important step that translates the two countries’ endeavors to enhance cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence and operational efficiency, in order to achieve the well-being of the societies of the two countries. And raise the quality of life for their citizens.

His Excellency added that the memorandum of understanding reflects the two countries’ focus on establishing meaningful partnerships that focus on the future and achieve mutual benefit for its parties, as well as contributing to addressing global challenges. We are confident that this new partnership will strengthen the ties between the UAE and Malaysia and bring many benefits to the two countries in the long term.

For his part, His Excellency Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said that this partnership with the UAE constitutes an important turning point in supporting Malaysia’s aspirations to assume a leading position in the global scene of artificial intelligence, as we seek to use advanced artificial intelligence and advanced data analytics to address complex challenges, such as public safety. , while raising the level of operational efficiencies.

He added that the UAE has great achievements in the field of artificial intelligence and technological innovation that the world is witnessing, as this partnership allows us to benefit from its advanced expertise and capabilities in this field. This partnership confirms the strength of the relationship between our two countries and embodies our shared commitment to innovation and mutual progress, and we look forward to achieving results. concrete together.

This memorandum represents a qualitative leap after the ratification of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) in October 2024.
