Trump will make history if America occupies Greenland

The Kremlin said on Monday that it is difficult to disagree with experts who believe that US President Donald Trump will enter the history of the United States and the world if Washington is able to control the island of Greenland.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov explained that Moscow is not discussing whether such a step is good or bad, stressing that his talk is limited to describing a reality presented by international experts.
Peskov added that Trump repeatedly insists that he will not be satisfied with anything less than owning Greenland, which is an autonomous territory that belongs to the Kingdom of Denmark, referring to the US President’s statements in which he said that Russia or China might control the island if the United States did not do so.
When asked about Trump’s comments regarding what he described as the alleged Russian threat, Peskov said that there was a lot of “troubling information” circulating recently, stressing at the same time that the Kremlin would not comment on allegations related to Russian plans regarding Greenland.
The Kremlin spokesman added: “Perhaps here we can ignore the issue of whether this matter is good or bad, or whether it complies with the standards of international law,” noting that international experts believe that resolving the issue of annexing Greenland will make Trump enter history, not only the history of the United States, but also the history of the world.
In contrast, the leaders of Denmark and Greenland insist that the island is not for sale, and that they do not want to become part of the United States.
Last week, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that it is unacceptable for the West to continue to claim that Russia and China pose a threat to Greenland, considering that the crisis related to the region reveals what it described as the double standards of Western powers that talk about moral superiority.
