New Zealand Minister of Commerce: The SEPA agreement is a historic achievement that strengthens cooperation between the UAE and New Zealand

ABU DHABI, 14 JANUARY / WAM / His Excellency Todd McLay, Minister of Trade of New Zealand, confirmed that the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (SEPA) with the UAE is a historic achievement that reflects the commitment of the two countries to strengthening economic and trade relations.
He described the agreement as the fastest negotiated in the history of New Zealand and one of the most comprehensive and high-quality agreements, noting that it will contribute to removing trade barriers, stimulating investments, and strengthening ties between the two peoples.
He pointed out that the agreement will open new horizons for New Zealand companies to enter the UAE market, at a time when the UAE is showing an increasing interest in cooperating with New Zealand.
On the sidelines of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, His Excellency expressed his pride in the participation of the Prime Minister of New Zealand, as he reviewed New Zealand’s efforts in the field of sustainability and discussed enhancing cooperation with the UAE to achieve sustainable development goals.
He said that honoring a New Zealand school by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” for its efforts in the field of sustainability constitutes an incentive for the rest of the schools in New Zealand to present distinctive initiatives and participate in such events.
The New Zealand Minister of Commerce stressed that the SEPA agreement represents a pivotal step towards building a strong and sustainable economic partnership between the UAE and New Zealand, with aspirations for a more prosperous and sustainable common future.
