The events of the movie “From Beyond the Waves” combine mystery and suspense, as the married couple Yasmine and Nabil find themselves stranded on an enchanted island with their two children, Jana and Adam.
Cut off from the outside world, and losing any means of communication or survival, the small family’s hopes are fading day by day. Amid their struggle to survive, both Yasmine and Nabil carry a hidden secret, which they seek to hide from their young daughter Jana, but the pressures begin to reveal cracks in the ideal image they are trying to maintain.
With mounting challenges and recurring losses, family ties are subjected to a difficult test that reveals their strength in the face of crises.
The movie “From Beyond the Waves” stars Nadine Labaki, Ziad Bakri, Zain Al-Rafii, and Reman Al-Rafii, and is directed by Matty Brown, who co-wrote the script with Yasmina Karaja and Hend Fakhro. (Nawaem)
