المملكة: Qatif.. Rehabilitation of the eastern side of Al-Quds Street to enhance traffic safety

The Qatif Governorate Municipality continued the development and rehabilitation work on the eastern side of Al-Quds Street, with a length of 2445 meters and a width of 40 metres. With the aim of developing the road network and enhancing traffic safety, in continuation of its efforts to rehabilitate and raise the efficiency of roads, and improve the quality of life.
This comes within the framework of the second phase of the Al-Quds Street development project, which was launched by the Qatif Governorate Municipality, in cooperation with the Governorate Traffic Department, by partially closing the eastern part of the street, starting from the Salman Al-Farisi Street intersection until the Riyadh Street intersection.

Improving infrastructure

The municipality confirmed that this measure comes as part of its ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and raise the efficiency of roads in the governorate, noting that the other part of the street will remain open to vehicle traffic. With the aim of ensuring the smooth flow of traffic and facilitating the movement of citizens and residents.
She explained that the first phase of the street development project, which ended with the opening of the western part on October 24, 2024, included comprehensive infrastructure development works, including the establishment of a rainwater drainage network, green spaces, a walking track, a bicycle path, and seating platforms.

An important trade artery

She indicated that Al-Quds Street, which extends about 5 kilometers in length and 60 meters in width, is considered one of the most important commercial arteries in Qatif, as it includes many shops, restaurants and cafes, and the development work is expected to contribute to stimulating commercial activity and attracting more visitors, in addition to upgrading Quality of life in the governorate.
The Qatif Municipality called on citizens and residents to adhere to traffic instructions and cooperate with the competent authorities. To ensure that business runs smoothly and that the project is completed on time.
