With the eruption of Mount Ibo volcano, the alert level in Indonesia has been raised to the highest level

The National Geological Agency of Indonesia announced today, Friday, that the alert level has been raised to the highest level, due to the eruption of a volcano, with a height of 1,300 meters.
The height of the ash column from Mount Ebo, on Valmahera Island, recently reached 4 kilometers. According to civil protection agencies, about 120 residents have been rescued from the surrounding area so far.

Readiness of shelter centers

Five emergency shelters are preparing to accommodate up to 3,000 people. Indonesia is located in the Pacific Ring of Fire, an area where volcanoes are active. There are about 130 active volcanoes throughout Indonesia.
