ABU DHABI, 17 JANUARY / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Police General Command began regulating the use of cameras in the tasks of its members, with the aim of regulating issues related to their operation during the performance of police and security duties, preserving and dealing with recordings, and preserving their confidentiality and not disclosing them, based on its strategic vision aimed at enhancing… Security and safety.
This step allows assigned police officers to operate cameras and record in public and private places during search and arrest missions authorized by law, provided that the camera is placed in a clear place on the military or civilian uniform to allow the public to see it, and to notify the arrested person when it starts operating.
To ensure the confidentiality of the recordings, the Abu Dhabi Police General Command is keen to preserve them in appropriate storage facilities in the same condition as the camera captured them without any change. It is prohibited to publish, disclose, or enable others to view them except for the purposes of official work and based on the approval of the competent authority.
