Israel continues its violations of the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon

The Israeli army committed 4 violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon on Friday, bringing the total since the agreement came into force 52 days ago to 564 violations.
Israeli violations of the agreement on Friday were concentrated in The capital, Beirut, and the districts of Bint Jbeil and Marjayoun in Nabatieh Governorate. The violations included flying marches, bombing homes, and kidnapping a Syrian citizen. In Beirut and its southern suburb, which is considered a Hezbollah stronghold, an Israeli drone was detected flying at a low altitude. In Marjayoun district, the Israeli army carried out a new bombing operation on homes inside neighborhoods in the town of Mays al-Jabal. In Bint Jbeil district, Israeli soldiers kidnapped a Syrian citizen on Friday afternoon while he was herding livestock on the outskirts of the town of Rmeish. An Israeli drone and reconnaissance flight was recorded in the airspace of southern Lebanon. Since November 27, 2024, a fragile ceasefire has prevailed, ending mutual bombardment between the Israeli army and Lebanese resistance factions, most notably Hezbollah, which began on October 8, 2023, then turned into a widespread escalation on September 23, 2024. Among the most prominent provisions of the agreement is the gradual withdrawal of the Israeli army to the south of the line. Blue within 60 days, and the deployment of Lebanese army and security forces along the borders, crossing points and the southern region. Under the agreement, the Lebanese army will be the only body allowed to carry weapons in the south of the country, with the dismantling of infrastructure and military sites, the confiscation of unauthorized weapons, and the establishment of a committee to supervise and help ensure the implementation of these commitments.
