Mohammed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence will host the International Computational Linguistics Conference tomorrow

ABU DHABI, 18 JANUARY / WAM / The activities of the 31st edition of the International Computational Linguistics Conference, organized by the Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence, will begin tomorrow at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), during the period from 19 to 24 January, and under the sponsorship of the International Committee for Linguistics. Computerization.
The conference coincides with the Winter School for Arabic Language Computing, organized by New York University Abu Dhabi and Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence, over the course of January 18 and 19.
The conference, which is being held for the first time in the Middle East, is supported by the Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau at the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, and includes 22 workshops, 9 educational sessions, and keynote speeches, in addition to the winter school, designed to sharpen participants’ knowledge and skills in the fields of research and development in… Arabic language processing.
Professor Preslav Nakov, head of the Department of Natural Language Processing at the university, a lecturer there and head of the conference’s local committee, said that this event brings together the brightest minds in the fields of artificial intelligence and natural language processing, opening new horizons for enhancing dialogue and driving innovation.
He added that linguistic computing is redefining the way humans interact with machines, expressing his aspiration to explore how to benefit from these developments to reach solutions to the most prominent regional and global challenges.
The conference, which was founded in 1965, is held every two years and attracts participants from research centers, academic institutions, industrial research departments, and technology startups from around the world.
In this year’s session, 853 research papers were accepted as a main part of the conference, including 22 papers prepared by students and faculty members at the Mohammed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence.
The International Computational Linguistics Conference 2025 is the second high-level conference centered on natural language processing and artificial intelligence to be held in Abu Dhabi, after the Experimental Methods in Natural Language Processing conference in 2022, which was hosted by New York University Abu Dhabi in partnership with the Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence.
Abu Dhabi also hosted the 2024 session of the International Conference on Data Mining, organized by Khalifa University of Science and Technology, and the International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, organized by Khalifa University of Science and Technology and the Society of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
The Mohammed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence has established its position as one of the top 10 universities in the world in the specializations of artificial intelligence, computer vision, machine learning, natural language processing, robotics, and computational biology, and as one of the 85 best universities in computer science, according to the university rankings.
