المملكة: Violations of non-availability of medicine.. “Food and Drug Administration” sets 60 days to update the data

The Food and Drug Authority issued a circular regarding violations of the unavailability of pharmaceutical and herbal preparations, in which it stressed the importance of providing the establishment with the official email address linked to the commercial registry and the data of its availability official within a maximum period of 60 working days.
The Authority explained that this circular – a copy of which Al-Youm obtained – comes within the framework of its efforts to ensure the availability of medicine in sufficient quantities for the local market, and the development it is making of its oversight methodology in violations of the availability of pharmaceutical preparations.

The authority indicated that verifying the facilities’ commitment to providing preparations and following up on inventory, need and consumption data is done electronically through correspondence with the facility’s availability officer or approved platforms “such as the drug availability platform.”
The Authority stressed that appointing and updating the data of the availability officer and the official email is the responsibility of the facility, and the email provided will be considered the official and approved means of communication for the facility.
The Authority confirmed that it will complete all its regulatory procedures to verify that establishments comply with what is stipulated in the Regulations for Establishments and Pharmaceutical and Herbal Preparations, and will take the necessary measures regarding any violations.
The authority called on all facilities to quickly update their data to ensure the availability of the medicine and not be subject to legal accountability.
