South Korean police have arrested a presidential security official, suspected of obstructing the anti-corruption agency’s first attempt to arrest President Yeon Suk-yeol on January 3 over a martial law decree.
The National Police Investigation Agency said that it had executed an arrest warrant against Lee Kwang-woo, head of the Presidential Security Service’s Protection Office, at around 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Obstructing the performance of a private official duty

Lee, who is accused of obstructing the performance of a private official duty, voluntarily appeared for questioning at approximately 9:45 a.m. local time.
Speaking to reporters before questioning, Lee said he intends to cooperate wholeheartedly in the investigation, adding that the Secret Service has done its legitimate duty within the security zone.
