The first days of the presidency.. Trump intends to postpone the American ban on TikTok

US President-elect Donald Trump said he intends to issue an executive order that would give TikTok’s parent company, based in China, more time to find an approved buyer, before the popular video-sharing platform is subject to a permanent ban in the United States.
The application thanked US President-elect Donald Trump for this decision.
Trump announced the decision in a post on his account on the Social Truth website today, Sunday, at a time when millions of TikTok users in the United States of America woke up to discover that they no longer had access to the TikTok application or platform.
Google and Apple removed the app from their digital stores in compliance with a federal law requiring them to do so if TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, does not sell its US operations to an approved buyer by Sunday.

Trump said in his post: I ask companies not to allow TikTok to go out of business. I will issue an executive order tomorrow, Monday, to extend the period of time before the law’s restrictions take effect, so that we can make a deal to protect our national security.
He added: The executive order will also confirm that there will be no responsibility for any company that helped prevent TikTok from ceasing operations before I issued this order.

He continued: “Americans deserve to see our exciting inauguration tomorrow, Monday, in addition to other events and conversations.”

Restore service for US users

TikTok announced that it is in the process of restoring service to users in the United States, after the popular video sharing application stopped working in compliance with a new law in the country.
The company that runs the TikTok application said in a post on the “X” website today, Sunday, that the technology companies that would have faced fines if they did not remove the TikTok application from digital stores, in addition to other companies providing the service, had agreed to help.
