118 people were killed and 61 injured as a result of heavy rains in Zimbabwe

The Civil Defense in Zimbabwe indicated in a statement that (9) additional people were killed during the past week, bringing the number of victims to (118) people, after a previous toll had reported that (109) people were killed in the previous week.

The statement stated that most of the cases recorded during the past week resulted from drowning and the collapse of mines; Due to the weather conditions associated with heavy rains, adding that the rains have so far affected (8,295) families, and caused damage to (334) homes, (236) schools, (15) health facilities, in addition to (21) bridges in various parts of the country.
