“Mufasa” regains the top spot in the US box office

The movie “Mufasa: The Lion King” regains the top spot in the North American box office, following the long weekend that extends to Monday inclusive, according to estimates issued Sunday by the specialized company “Expeter Relations.”
The hyper-realistic animated film is expected to gross $15.5 million from Friday to Monday, bringing the total revenue from its five-week run in the United States and Canada to about $210 million.

This Monday is a national holiday in the United States, marking the anniversary of the birth of Martin Luther King Jr., which prompted Exhibitor Relations to include this day’s revenues in its total weekend revenues.

The action movie “Den of Thieves 2: Pantera” snatched the lead from “Mufasa” last week.
In second place in the new ranking is the comedy film, which began showing on Friday, “One of Them Days,” starring the American singer Sza.
This film, with a budget of $14 million, performed better between Friday and Sunday than “Mufasa,” which was produced by “Disney” with a huge budget of $200 million, but its revenues are expected to slow down on Monday to reach a total of $14 million, according to the specialized company.
Third place went to another film that began showing on Friday, “Wolf Man” by Australian director Lee Whannell. Ticket sales for this horror film are expected to reach $12 million during its first four days in theaters ($12.5 million with previews).
It was followed in fourth place by the movie “Sonic the Hedgehog 3,” whose revenues over the weekend were estimated at about $10.3 million, and about $218 million in five weeks.
The movie “Vayana 2” ranked fifth with revenues amounting to $8.4 million ($445 million in eight weeks).
Here are the rest of the works in order of the top ten films:
6- “Dane of Thieves 2: Pantera” ($7.8 million).
7- “Nosferatu” ($5.1 million).
8- “Wicked” ($4.6 million).
9- “A Complete Known” ($4.6 million).
