Amending the ban times for heavy vehicles on Abu Dhabi roads

The Integrated Transport Center (Abu Dhabi Transport), affiliated with the Department of Municipalities and Transport, announced the amendment of the ban times for heavy vehicles on the roads of Abu Dhabi City, including trucks, tankers, and heavy equipment.
In an effort to ensure the flow of traffic and improve the level of road safety in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, which is witnessing a noticeable increase in the number of vehicles, it was decided to ban the movement of heavy vehicles on the roads of Abu Dhabi from Monday to Thursday in the morning period from 06:30 to 09:00. In the morning and in the evening between 03:00 and 07:00 pm.
On Friday, heavy vehicles are prohibited from driving during the morning period during the same period on weekdays, and for the evening period from 11:00 am until 01:00 pm, provided that this decision comes into effect from January 27 of this year.
This amendment was adopted to reduce the impact of the interference of light and heavy vehicles during busy hours on the road network, which causes variation in vehicle speeds and traffic accidents and thus increases traffic density, in addition to its role in preserving roads and bridges from damage resulting from excessive loads.
It is noteworthy that Abu Dhabi Transport coordinates directly with the Abu Dhabi Police General Command to ensure that owners of heavy vehicles adhere to the specified times.
