film "Greece" Participates in the Berlin Film Festival

The Berlin International Film Festival announced the selection of the film “Jonah” Directed by Amir Fakhr El-Din, it will be the only Arab film competing in the official competition during its 75th session, scheduled from 13 to 23 February next.

The company distributing the film stated in a statement yesterday, Tuesday, that the work was written, directed and edited by Amir. Fakhr El-Din, who has won many awards, and the well-known Lebanese actor, director, and producer George Khabbaz is participating in the cast, alongside the famous German actress Hanna Schigula, and the Palestinian actor Ali Suleiman, known for his roles in films. "200 metres" (2020) and "Heaven Now" (2005), which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

The film is a co-production between Germany and Canada, in cooperation with France, Italy and Palestine, and features prominent stars from around the world.

The film’s events take place on a remote island, where Mounir (George Khabbaz) seeks isolation to contemplate his final decision, and finds solace in the calm presence of Valeska (Hannah Schygulla), whose compassion ignited his will. The vanishing life.

It is noteworthy that Amir Fakhr al-Din is a Syrian writer and film director who resides in Hamburg, Germany, and “Greece.” It is the second film in Fakhr El-Din’s planned trilogy entitled “Watan”.
