4 countries benefit from “Mohammed bin Rashid’s initiatives” to confront child malnutrition

The Secretary-General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, discussed with the Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Catherine Russell, ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides, and the results achieved one year after the Initiatives Foundation pledged to provide… About 30 million dirhams ($8.1 million) are a contribution to the Child Nutrition Fund (CNF), managed by UNICEF.
This came during the participation of “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives” in the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The Child Nutrition Fund is a new financing mechanism designed to accelerate the implementation of policies, programs and assistance directed at ending the phenomenon of child wasting. This donation will enable the Child Nutrition Fund to provide basic nutritional supplements and therapeutic meals to more than 371,000 children and women until the end of 2027, which is consistent with the objectives of the Child Nutrition Foundation. “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives” in combating hunger and malnutrition, and helping less fortunate groups around the world.
During the meeting, the commitment of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation and UNICEF to addressing child nutrition crises around the world was confirmed, in addition to reviewing the plans for projects and initiatives that the Mohammed bin Rashid Initiatives Foundation is working on with UNICEF, especially in its stage. The first supports four countries: Mongolia, Tanzania, Madagascar, and Sri Lanka.
Al-Gergawi said: “Our cooperation with UNICEF embodies the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, by providing support and care to the most needy groups in the world, especially children and their families, in a way that guarantees them conditions.” A decent life, which translates the Foundation’s humanitarian mission of harnessing all resources and capabilities to bring about a positive change in the reality of societies around the world.”
He added: “This partnership comes at a time when many countries in the world are suffering from economic crises, conflicts, and climate changes that impose increasing challenges on children and women, especially in the areas affected by these conflicts. Joint work between the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation and UNICEF will enable To support efforts that seek to achieve a sustainable positive impact on the lives of millions of people, empower the most vulnerable communities, and improve their quality of life.
It is noteworthy that the volume of spending by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation reached 1.8 billion dirhams in 2023, as more than 111 million beneficiaries in 105 countries benefited from its programs.
