New wildfire north of Los Angeles

A new wildfire broke out yesterday in northern Los Angeles, forcing thousands of residents to evacuate their homes in an area that has recently witnessed other devastating fires.
The fire spread rapidly near Castaic Lake, burning 1,400 hectares in less than two hours, and strong, hot, dry winds helped fan it.
Evacuation orders were issued for about 31,000 people around the lake, which is located about 56 kilometers north of Los Angeles, and close to the city of Santa Clarita.
Robert Jensen of the Los Angeles County Police Department urged everyone in the area affected by the new fire, known as the “Hughes Fire,” to leave immediately.
