Dubai Cares and Marriott International collaborate to enhance children’s education

On the occasion of International Education Day, Dubai Cares, a civil society organization officially affiliated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications (UN DGC), announced a new collaboration with Marriott International to launch the “Education for Children” initiative next February. This initiative invites guests staying at participating Marriott hotels across the UAE to contribute US$1 for every night they spend at the hotel to support Dubai Cares’ mission of providing quality education to underprivileged children globally.

All proceeds from the initiative will be donated to support Dubai Cares’ global educational programs that aim to address the challenges that prevent children and youth from obtaining quality education, unleash their full potential and ensure maximum positive impact on underprivileged children.

Commenting on the importance of this announcement, Dr. Tariq Mohammed Al Gurg, CEO and Vice Chairman of Dubai Cares, said: “Our cooperation with Marriott International represents an influential strategic model on how the efforts of the hospitality sector can combine with humanitarian work to advance human development at the global level.
