Mansour bin Mohammed witnesses a tournament "Heroes’ Road to Dubai"

DUBAI, 25 JANUARY / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, today witnessed the “Champions Road to Dubai” tournament, which was held at the Coca-Cola Arena, Dubai, organized by the Professional Fighters League (PFL) in partnership With the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, and the Dubai Sports Council.
His Highness watched part of the international fights that were held between the elite of international fighters, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports, and Khalfan Belhoul, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council.
The Professional Fighters League Championship is the first of its kind in the Middle East, and is held as a series of international mixed martial arts tournaments in various cities around the world under the name “The Road to Dubai,” and its conclusion comes in the Emirate of Dubai, the favorite destination for the most famous mixed martial arts players and the strongest competitions.
His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum witnessed the victory of Emirati Hadi Omar Al Husseini over Filipino Ruel Banales in a flyweight bout.
The tournament received a large audience attendance, confirming Dubai’s position as a preferred destination for hosting major international sporting tournaments and events in various games, while harnessing all means and capabilities to make it successful, and enhancing its leading position on the global sports map.
The tournament witnessed 11 fights with the participation of 22 fighters, from 13 countries, led by the UAE, Russia, Ireland, America, Brazil, England, Uzbekistan, Kuwait, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Algeria, and the Philippines.
In the rest of the fights, he met the Irishman Nathan Kelly with the Russian Khasan Magomedov, the Irishman Kenny Mokhwana with the Englishman Ibragim Ibragimov, the American Johnson with the Russian Nemkov, the Brazilian Cleavers Fernandez with the Russian Rinat Khavalov, the Egyptian Ahmed Sami with the Syrian Tariq Suleiman, and the Uzbek Marafzal “Mirko” Akhtamov with the Englishman. Mike “Levi” Thompson and Irish John Mitchell with Algerian Suhail Thaeri, Saudi Mustafa Nada with Briton Haider “Darth” Khan, and an amateur fight between Emirati Saeed Al Hosani and Kuwaiti Talal Al Qallaf.
An elite group of world champions in martial arts, and a number of the most famous sports stars from the Professional Fighters League, participate in the Professional Fighters League. The championship competitions are scheduled to continue in the coming years, establishing Dubai as a global destination for this type of sport.
