Zayed bin Hamad crowns Majid Al Muhairi champion of the Emirates Endurance Cup

ABU DHABI, 26 JANUARY / WAM / Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Arabian Horse Association, knight Majid Jamal Al Muhairi, riding “Hillstone March” for F3 Stables, was crowned champion of the Emirates Arabian Horse Endurance Cup over a distance of 100 km, achieving 03. :27:55 hours, with an average speed of 28.86 km/hour.

The race was held this morning at the Emirates International Endurance Village in Al Wathba, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, and Head of the Presidential Office, with the participation of 94 male and female riders.

The coronation ceremony was attended by His Excellency Muslim Al Ameri, Director General of the Emirates International Endurance Village, His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Harbi, Director General of the Emirates Arabian Horse Association, Mohammed Al Hadhrami, Director of Events at the Village, and Lara Sawaya.

Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan inspected the village facilities, reviewed the updates that had been made there, and received a commemorative shield.

The Emirates Arabian Horse Association and the Emirates International Endurance Village organized the race, the first of its kind for Arabian horses, in cooperation with the Equestrian and Racing Federation.

The second place went to the jockey Rashid Mohammed Al Muhairi, riding the horse “Mirzam” also for the “F3” stables, recording 3:27:56 hours, with an average speed of 28.86 km/hour, and the jockey Issa Abdullah Issa came third on the horse “SW Calebau.” “For Storm Stables, with a time of 3:31:25 hours, and an average speed of 28.38 km/hour.

The champion, Majed Al Muhairi, confirmed his happiness in achieving the title of the first endurance race for Arabian horses. He said that the race witnessed strong competition, praising the performance of the horse “Hillstone Azar” during the course of the race until the finish line, and he appreciated the efforts of the coach and the work team at “F3” stables.

His Excellency Muslim Al Ameri extended his thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the State, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chief of the Presidential Office, for His Highness’s support for endurance racing in general and Arabian horse racing in all its fields in particular.

He said that the race was a success from the technical and organizational aspects and the wide participation of the various stables in the country. He congratulated the winners of the race and praised all the participants and their efforts that resulted in the success achieved by the race.
