The Shura Council held today, its eighteenth regular session of the work of the first year of the ninth session, headed by the Vice -President of the Council, Meshaal bin Fahm Al -Salami.
At the beginning of the session, the Council reviewed the agenda of its eighteenth regular session, and the items that made it the necessary decisions regarding them. After the report of the committee for discussion, the members of the Council expressed a number of notes and opinions regarding what was included in the annual report of the university, where a member of the Shura Council Abdullah Al -Waddani called on Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal University to exert more effort to improve the percentage of teaching members to students in scientific colleges, especially the College of Computers and Information Technology, Pointing out the importance of increasing the number of Saudi faculty members at the Faculty of Engineering, especially those who are at the rank of professor and associate professor.

For his part, a member of the Shura Council Faisal Al -Bawardi, Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal University, called for a review of the main performance indicators and a mechanism of its measurement to ensure decisions that help achieve the university’s strategic goals and meet the needs of the labor market.

At the end of the discussion, the committee requested that it be given more time to study the opinions and proposals put forward by the members and return its point of view to the council in a later session.

Session agenda

Within the topics of the projects of the agreements and notes on the agenda of the session, the Shura Council approved a draft memorandum of understanding between the Communications, Space and Technology Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Hellenic National Authority for Communications and Post in the Hellenic Republic in the field of communications and information technology.

In the cultural field, the Council agreed to a project of cooperation note between the Ministry of Culture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in Japan in the cultural field.

Cyber ​​security

In the environmental field, the Council agreed to a draft memorandum of understanding between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia represented by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan represented by the Ministry of Environment in the field of the environment and its preservation.
During the session, the Council approved a draft agreement based between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Council of Arab Cyber ​​Security Ministers.
In the field of air transport, the Council agreed to a draft agreement between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Republic of Lithuania in the field of air transport services.
The Council also approved a draft agreement between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs issues.
