المملكة: We produce more than 5 types in addition to shrimp

The Director General of the National Center for Fish Resources, Eng. Riyad bin Hussein Al -Faqih, explained during his speech to “Today” that the fish farming system produces more than 5 types of fish in addition to shrimp.
During a workshop, he pointed to the success of the dancer fish farming in closed systems and tilapia fish and works with modern technologies.

Fish farming in Saudi Arabia

The workshop was held entitled “RAS”, which was held by the center in cooperation with the Saudi Fish Factory for fish farming systems “Sakua” in the building of the National Meteorological Center in Jeddah.

Al -Faqih continued during his speech, that the importance of the workshop is the work of closed systems to raise the level of awareness among investors in the positive aspects of production by fish farming and raise the efficiency of production.
This is in addition to maintaining natural resources and enhancing food security levels, while ensuring that pathological injuries are not transmitted or spread.

Developing fish production rates

He pointed to the diversity and multiplicity of efforts aimed at developing fish production rates and raising the productive efficiency of the farmers and fish producers by educating and making them aware of the results of research, best practices and presenting modern technologies that ensure the preservation of natural resources and enhance the efficiency of production in the field of fish production.

Al -Faqih stressed that the Makkah Al -Mukarramah region has more than 70 projects for fish farming, noting that the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is working to enhance food security levels, as it is in the welfare of the citizen.
It also works on the diversity of the food base, and it has achieved more than 120 thousand tons with locally produced fish farming products and numbers for returns from exports of fish products abroad, as they exceeded one billion riyals and these are indicators that contribute to the development of the fish farming sector.

It is worth noting that the Saudi Fish Factory for Fish Systems “Sakua” provides an integrated set of services, including: systems design, supply of high quality equipment, installation, technical support, and continuous maintenance, and it is a pioneer in the field of providing aquatic biology systems “RAS”.
It is designed to make the fish environment more efficient and sustainable as RAS technology works to constantly recycle and purify water, ensuring the ideal conditions for fish health and growth.
Taking into account, reducing water consumption and preventing harmful environmental effects, and to achieve best practices in raising fish in more sustainable and productive ways.
