Sweden pledges to provide military aid to Ukraine at 1.2 billion euros

On Thursday, the Swedish government pledged to provide an additional $ 1.2 billion in military aid to Ukraine, considering that Europe needs to bear more support for Kiev.
Swedish Defense Minister Pal Johnson said that the 18th aid package provided by his country Kiev since the Russian invasion is the largest so far, and evidence of Stockholm’s willingness to support Ukraine on the “long -term”.
He added in a press conference: “This is also an indication of other allies that we need Europe to prepare for more responsibility in supporting Ukraine.”

The value of the total aid package is 13.5 billion crowns (1.2 billion dollars), the largest part of which will be allocated 5.9 billion crowns to buy military equipment from Swedish and foreign factories and provide a gift to Ukraine.
Johnson pointed out that this package means that Sweden moves from donating weapons from its stocks to buying new weapons.

The Swedish government said that a billion krns were allocated to support Ukraine’s production “for long -range missiles and distant run -up aircraft.”
The package included donations of 3.3 billion crowns of the Swedish armed forces, including 16 CB 90 war boats, which doubled the number of boats from this model that was donated to Ukraine.
The total Swedish military support for Ukraine with this last package is 61.9 billion kruna ($ 5.6 billion), according to the government.
