Egyptian Petrojet is crowned table champion "Ladies Arab 2026"

Sharjah, February 12, 2017 – The table tennis competitions in the eighth edition of the 2026 Arab Club Games for Women were concluded, with the Egyptian Petrojet Club crowning the singles and doubles titles on the final day, which was held today at the Al-Qarayen Children’s Center in the Emirate of Sharjah, with the Egyptian team completing a historic hat-trick in the game after also winning the team gold yesterday.
The coronation of the champions came in the presence of Sheikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, Chairwoman of the Supervision and Follow-up Committee, Her Excellency Hanan Al-Mahmoud, Vice-Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Arab Women’s Club Games, Her Excellency Abdulaziz Al-Anazi, Secretary-General of the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees, Tamer Jumaa, representative of the Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports in the League of Arab States, and Her Excellency Moza Al-Shamsi, Director of the Arab Women’s Club Games.
In the singles competitions, Petrojet player Farah Hassan Abdel Aziz won the gold medal after winning the final match over her colleague Nour Salah Ahmed from the same club with a score of 3-2 in a strong confrontation between two players from the same team that reflected the close technical level. Kuwaiti Maryam Suleiman Abdel Rahim came in third place, while Lebanese Bisan Wissam Sherry came in third place again.
In the doubles competitions, Petrojet continued its excellence and won the gold medal through the duo Farah Hassan Abdulaziz and Nour Salah Ahmed, while the Kuwaiti Al-Fatah Club came in second place, represented by the players Manwa Majed Al-Shammari and Maryam Suleiman Abdul-Rahim.
Sharjah Women’s Sports Club won third place through the duo Noura Hassan Al Mazmi and Ahlam Adel Abdullah, while the Sharjah duo Hessa Saud and Asma Ibrahim Al Hammadi also came in third place.
Petrojet also won the team title and the gold medal, while the Kuwaiti Al-Fatah Club came in second place, the Sharjah Women’s Sports Club came in third place, and the Palestine Club came in third place repeatedly.
The doubles competitions witnessed the participation of eight teams, which were held in a direct knockout system, and the players presented high technical levels characterized by excitement and diverse skills, while the experience of the Petrojet players tipped the balance in favor of the Egyptian team, which won the title without losing any round in its journey towards gold, confirming the emergence of a new champion in doubles after the Bahraini Aali Club duo were crowned champions of the previous edition.
As for the individual competitions, they were held in a group system followed by a knockout in the final rounds, and resulted in the emergence of a group of rising stars, which reflects the broadening of the competition base and the development of the technical level of the game at the level of Arab clubs.
Mahmoud Ibrahim Ahmed, general coach of the Petrojet women’s team, expressed his happiness with these titles in the team’s first participation in the Arab Women’s Club Games, stressing that the team presented strong levels and achieved great technical benefits from participation.
He said, “We presented a distinguished tournament and achieved positive results in our first attendance at the tournament, which is an important Arab gathering that enriches the experiences of female players and enhances the level of competition.”
